Concurrent Enrollment Training

Provided adjunct instructors and concurrent enrollment instructors with a 2 hour training introducing them to the tools our department and the college have made available to them. The training took place on April 30, 2015.

More than 40% of the courses taught at SLCC are taught by adjunct instructors. Concurrent enrollment teachers at high school are also teaching a fair amount of courses offered by our college. "Course Mentors” and professors are tasked with keeping their courses up to date, but the updates are not always effectively communicated to our part time instructors.

The purpose of the training was to introduce the instructors assigned with teaching Marketing 1030 to a variety of web-based platforms that help them teach the course more effectively and provide them access to the most current materials. The training also was an opportunity to share our vision and passion for this course with the instructors and to receive feedback to help us as we continue to improve the course.
