Complete Redesign- Digital Marketing (MKTG 2810)

Completely redesigned our Digital Marketing course in Spring 2015, switching the focus from eCommerce to a general introduction to current key digital marketing tools.

In this course, students learn and use digital marketing skills and tools to create a successful digital marketing strategy that includes social media and e-commerce to drive and manage sales, online advertising, accounting, customer service, and general business online management.

Reflection

The flexibility and non-traditional nature of this course was well received by some, but left others feeling lost. The course is primarily built on Canvas, utilizing YouTube videos and tutorials to complete the assignments necessary for the course. The students capabilities in this class also vary more drastically than other classes.

Future Plans

More structure is needed in this class, I will establish that by providing the students with more resources and videos to break up the modules and allow for more tangible materials they can refer to outside of the classroom. I will also utilize the wide variety of talents in the class by allowing more opportunities to work in groups.
