ACBSP Teaching Excellence Award Recipient

I have always been very passionate about teaching and fostering the growth of our students. I was honored to be awarded for this passion with the ACBSP Teaching Excellence Award for 2016. Below is the press release from the committee announcing this achievement.

Ahmad Kareh Receives 2016 ACBSP Teaching Excellence Award.

OVERLAND PARK, KS, USA (April 13, 2016) Ahmad Kareh, Assistant Professor, at Salt Lake Community College, in Salt Lake City, U.T., has been named a regional recipient of the 2016 ACBSP Teaching Excellence Award. The Accreditation Council for Business Schools and Programs recognizes individuals each year who exemplify teaching excellence in the classroom.

Mr. Kareh will be honored, along with other regional recipients, at ACBSP Annual Conference 2016, June 17-20 in Atlanta, Georgia. Two International Teaching Excellence Award recipients will be announced at a special Salute to Regions luncheon, one from a baccalaureate/graduate degree-granting institution and one from an associate degree-granting institution. As a regional recipient, Mr. Kareh is now a candidate for the international award.

“Ahmad constantly looks for ways to develop his knowledge in the Marketing discipline as well as in innovative teaching techniques and curriculum design. He is currently taking courses at UC Berkeley in online course design and courses at Harvard in Digital Marketing. HE has worked closely with the college Curriculum Design teams to make sure his online courses meet the highest standards,” said Barbie Willett, Associate Dean, Management and Marketing, at Salt Lake Community College.

The ACBSP Associate Degree Commission established the International Teaching Excellence Award in 1995 to recognize outstanding classroom teachers. In 2002, the Baccalaureate Degree Commission created a similar award to recognize excellence in teaching at the baccalaureate/graduate degree level. ACBSP is the only specialized body for business schools that presents an award recognizing excellence in teaching, open to application by the entire membership.

“It is more important than ever for business programs to produce graduates who are ready to enter the global marketplace,” said Jeffrey Alderman, ACBSP Chief Executive Officer. “ACBSP has a mission to develop, promote and recognize best practices that contribute to continuous improvement of business education. Recognition of teaching excellence is one way we achieve this goal,” he stated.
